The two-times champion of the NFL, the Washington Redskins, lost their third consecutive home game at the FedEx Field against the current champion New York Giants with a score of 23-7. The Redskins played with lack of physical and mental performance and its offense was really poor and ineffective in the game.

On the other hand, despite of the problems incurring in the team, the Giants played very good without their wide receiver Plaxico Burress. Burress has been out with an injury on his hamstring and more recently is facing a legal problem after he unintentionally shot himself in the leg last week. Despite this, the current NFL Champions have won seven games in a row and are leading the league with a record of 11-1.

For their part, the Redskins have a record of 7-5 and have just four games left in the regular season. It’s almost certain that the Washington Redskins would need to win at least three or maybe even all of these four games to obtain a spot in the post-season playoffs. Currently the Washington Redskins are in 16th place of the league and 8th place on the NFC. The Redskins average offensively just 17.3 points and are ranked 28th in the NFL. In defense the team has given 18.5 points per game and 283.0 yards to the opponent.

Coach Zorn has been frustrated with his team performance but expressed that he knows his team has talent and skills positions to accomplish their goals this year; they just need to make it happen and execute better offensively, specially starting with their field goals. Their place kicker Shaun Suisham has missed field goals, which suppose to be on his range. He missed a 42-yard attempt during the Giants game, as well as a 46-yard against Dallas and a 43-yard attempt in the victory over Seattle. Coach Zorn stated that little things become greater things, but his team needs to get together.  Zorn also recognized that the Giants did a great job and deserved the win.

“They did a nice job, especially in the run game, just loading things up. We knew coming in we were going to have to score more than seven points to win this game. That was a given because they’re a very good football team, but to have them come in here and beat us like that, that’s hard. That’s really hard,” said the coach of the Redskins.

The next game of the Washington Redskins will be on December 7th against Baltimore Ravens, who are in 7th place of the league with a record of 8-4. The Ravens are coming from a victory against Cincinnati 34-3 and they expect another triumph for a berth in the post-season. The Ravens have also won 4 of their last 5 games. On the other hand, the Redskins need the victory for sure to maintain their expectations in the NFL post-season and his coach Zorn has faith that his team will come together and play its best, offensively and defensively.

As for the leading Giants, they will be just looking for another victory next Sunday at home facing the Philadelphia Eagles, which are in the 17th position of the NFL.
