Most assume Russell goes to the Raiders. Who does Detroit take? Will someone trade with the Browns to jump past Tampa Bay and get WR Calvin Johnson?

The 2008 NFL season upon us and we’re in the last minutes for be able to place money on NFL betting futures. Whether you like betting on season win totals or Super Bowl winners, the time is now.

Betting on NFL season win totals is my favorite thing, because I win those bets often. This season there are a couple of great NFL lines out there. By the way, if you’re not familiar with how NFL lines work, you can watch some video on YouTube about them. I found some by typing in “wise bettor” into the search box. It’s an easy way to get great football betting info fast.

First up on my NFL prediction list is the NY Jets over 7 wins this season. The addition of Brett Favre in combination with their week schedule makes this a fairly safe pick in my book. Look for the Jets to win possibly 9-10 games.

My second NFL prediction is the New England Patriots under 12.5 wins on the season. Yes, you heard it here. The 16-0 team from last season will at best finish 12-4 this NFL season. Their tougher schedule combined with personnel issues will make it so.

Finally, I’m taking the Cleveland Browns under 8.5 wins. I think 8-8 will be their cap this year. Their offense isn’t looking great at all and their defense won’t stop any upper-tier offenses. Looking at their schedule, I can see 8 losses. The magic of a year ago won’t be back.

It’s time to get those NFL betting futures in the books.
